    Dr. Michaelina R. Bolton, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School, with a clinical appointment at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, she has extensive experience in both clinical care and medical education. Dr. Bolton completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of Michigan in 2011. She also completed advanced training in medical ethics through the Medical College of Wisconsin. After completing residency she worked at Advocate Christ Medical Center and was appointed as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She also served as assistant director of simulation for the Advocate Christ Emergency Medicine Residency prior to returning to Michigan Medicine. She joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 2015.

    In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Bolton holds several leadership roles, including Site Director for Emergency Medicine Resident Rotations at Hurley Medical Center and Physician Champion for the Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (MOPEN). She is also involved in quality improvement initiatives serving as the physician chart reviewer for the advanced practice providers in the emergency department at Hurley Medical Center. Her interests include medical education, continuous practice improvement, and medical ethics.
