    Research Overview

I am involved in basic science and translational research which dovetails with my clinical expertise. My basic science research focuses on investigating human DNA end-joining proteins as therapeutic targets in high-risk neuroblastoma and on optimizing biologically relevant preclinical models for studying the impact of social deprivation on cancer progression. I have assembled an interdisciplinary team including medicinal chemistry, drug design, biochemistry, and veterinary pathology to pursue this line of research and my lab recently obtained independent extramural funding. This is a high-risk high-reward project which has the potential to create a major paradigm shift in the treatment of neuroblastoma.
