Dr. Mathias is a faculty member in the department of Emergency Medicine at The University of Michigan. She works clinically in Children’s Emergency Services at CS Mott Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Her interests outside of her clinical work include supporting community emergency departments prepare for pediatric emergencies through evidence-based readiness efforts focused on education, quality improvement and creation of collaborative networks. She has a particular interest in exploring the practice of pediatric emergency care in rural and critical access hospitals to help identify ways to optimize patient care and support providers. She is a regional center lead for the ImPACTS collaborative network, engaging community hospitals in open sharing of knowledge, experiences and resources aimed at improving their pediatric readiness.
