    I hold the Upjohn Chair in Medicine & Oncology at the University. I am a member of the Life Sciences Institute and have previously served as the Chief of Molecular Medicine in the Dept of Int Med, the interim Director of the Life Sciences Institute and the Assoc Director of Basic Science Research at the Rogel Cancer Center. I have no clinical or formal teaching responsibilities and confine all of my efforts to the my research program.

    Research Overview

    Research interests focus on interactions between mesenchymal/skeletal stems as well as adipocytes and the surrounding extracellular matrix both in vitro and in vivo with particular emphasis on the role of mechanotransduction-linked pathways impacting nuclear transcription.
