BSc in Biology, MSc in Psychology, and PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Sao Paulo in Ribeirao Preto (2000-2012). Postdoc in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh, University of Sao Paulo in Ribeirao Preto, and University of Michigan Medical School (2013-2022). Currently Research Faculty at the University of Michigan Medical School, Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University and VA Portland.
Specialized in rodent behavior and physiology using techniques such as appetitive conditioning, brain stimulation/recording, drug delivery and machine vision. Also experienced in the analysis of human EEG. Currently interested in the temporal structure of REM sleep, as well as the relationships between sleep architecture and disorders affecting mood and social affiliation.
