    About

    Dr. Adetoye is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. She was appointed Service Chief for the department of family medicine. She is also a core faculty member for the family medicine residency program. She received a certificate in Healthcare Administration and in Medical Education.
    Dr. Adetoye completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. She earned her medical degree at Michigan State University. During medical school, Dr. Adetoye served as President of her class and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
    Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Adetoye taught high school lab science and biology to 9th and 11th graders in Seattle. Dr. Adetoye earned a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Physiology and a master’s degree in neuroscience at the University of Wyoming. She was an all-conference collegiate athlete and captain of the team.
    Dr Adetoye serves on the institutions Medical Staff Quality Committee and Faculty and Staff Awards Steering Committee. She serves on several committees within the Department of Family Medicine. Nationally she is on the American Board of Internal Medicine John A Benson Professionalism article prize review committee and is the past chair of the AAMCs Organization of Resident Representatives.

    Research Overview

    Dr. Adetoye’s current research interests include perinatal bereavement, trends in health care leadership, mentorship and workforce sustainability, particularly pertaining to primary care. She hopes to gain a better understanding of what determinants guide leaders to their positions. Her interests include clinician leadership, mentorship, women’s health education and empowerment.
