Scott J Denstaedt, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, University of Michigan. Dr. Denstaedt practices in the general pulmonary clinic and post-ICU/chronic ventilator unit.

His research interests are in basic and translational studies of long-term morbidity and mortality after critical illness and mechanisms of new organ injury. He studies persistent alterations in innate immunity after sepsis and how these affect patient outcomes. He has particular interest in epigenetic mechanisms of monocyte and macrophage reprogramming that predispose patients to new complications, including lung injury. He also serves as the director of the Victors Critical Care (VICC) biorepository in the Division.
