Dr. Emily Walling obtained her medical degree from the University of Toledo and completed a Pediatrics residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Washington University where she also earned her Master's in Population Health Sciences. She is currently an associate professor of pediatrics at The University of Michigan. Dr. Walling specializes in caring for children and adolescents with leukemia and lymphoma. She has a particular interest in the adolescent and young adult (AYA) patient population and is the co-medical director of the AYA Oncology Program at Michigan Health

Dr. Walling's research focuses on improving outcomes among AYAs diagnosed with cancer, both during treatment and in the survivorship period. Additionally, Dr. Walling is interested in survivorship outcomes among those treated for cancer as children, adolescents or young adults.
