    Dr. Natalie Schellpfeffer is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. She received her bachelor’s degree from Carthage College and her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Schellpfeffer joined the University of Michigan faculty in 2019 after completing both her pediatrics residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship training at the University of Michigan.

    Her academic interests include quality improvement and patient safety in pediatrics, pediatric illness and injury prevention, and child health advocacy.

    Dr. Schellpfeffer was appointed Medical Director for Patient Safety for Pediatrics at Michigan Medicine in 2025. She has also served as the Service Chief for the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine since 2024.

    She enjoys working clinically with acutely ill or injured children and their families, and she is honored to care for patients seen in Children's Emergency Services.

    When not working, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two sons.
