    Dr. Sakala is an Associate Professor of Radiology with sub specialization in abdominopelvic and breast imaging. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 2006 and Medical Doctorate from Wayne State University in 2011. She then completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina in 2016 before returning to Michigan to complete two fellowships in Abdominal and Breast imaging in 2017 and 2018. She is the Chair of the Women in Radiology group at Michigan Medicine and Course Director for the department’s annual Contrast Reaction Course. As an educator and content expert, she has been involved in several local and national committees, written multiple peer-reviewed articles, and given multiple presentations on imaging of endometriosis, female pelvic malignancy, breast cancer, and contrast media. She is an active member of the Radiological Society of North America, Society of Abdominal Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Society of Breast Imaging.

    Abdominal and pelvic imaging with CT, MRI, US, Radiographs, and Fluoroscopy.

    Breast imaging with Mammography, US, MRI, and procedures (including ultrasound-guided biopsy, stereotactic or tomosynthesis guided biopsy, MRI guided biopsy, lesion localization, and cryoablation).
