About
Ross Blank, MD earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his anesthesia residency and critical care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He joined the Michigan Medicine Department of Anesthesiology as faculty in 2008 and is currently a Clinical Associate Professor. His clinical and educational interests focus on respiratory physiology, respiratory failure, and mechanical ventilation. He serves as the Co-Director of the 5D Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Director of Thoracic Anesthesia, and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology Clinical Practice Committee. During the COVID surge of 2020, Dr. Blank co-directed the Respiratory Infectious Containment Unit (RICU) which quickly assembled a multidisciplinary team to provide care for critically ill COVID patients in a 50-bed intensive care unit.
