Dr. Murtaza Diwan is an Anesthesiologist and Intensivist specializing in critical care management of post cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgical patients. He is particularly interested optimizing care in the ICU resulting in efficient patient care and improved outcomes. He joined the University of Michigan in 2014, where he has been involved in education of Critical Care fellows and has served as the program director of the Critical Care fellowship. He works in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care as the medical director of the unit, where he has worked on optimizing the staffing in the ICU as well as working with his surgical and critical care colleagues to improve patient outcomes and length of stays.
