Dermatology Rotation for Visiting Medical Students

Students from medical schools outside the University of Michigan are welcome to apply for a visiting dermatology rotation in our department through the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) website. We offer 4-week in-person rotations, which align with the University of Michigan Medical School academic calendar:

  • Period 06: 06/03/24-06/30/24
  • Period 07: 07/01/24-07/28/24
  • Period 08: 07/29/24-08/25/24
  • Period 09: 08/26/24-09/22/24
  • Period 10: 09/23/24-10/20/24
How to Apply

Applicants are asked to submit a personal statement including reasons for interest in the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology as well as a letter of recommendation. We will begin accepting applications at the beginning of March 2024, and students selected will be notified shortly thereafter for the available rotation periods. Please note the deadline to submit an application is April 15, 2024.

Although we will try to accommodate date requests, this may not always be feasible. Due to scheduling constraints, we are unable to do alternate rotation dates. Invitation and participation in a visiting elective at the University of Michigan does not guarantee an invitation for a dermatology residency interview in the upcoming application cycle.

Application Deadline

We will begin accepting applications at the beginning of March 2024. The deadline to submit an application is April 15, 2024.
