Alexandra Targan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. She serves as a primary care physician at Domino's Farms Family Medicine and an attending physician on the Family Medicine Inpatient Service at the University of Michigan Hospital. She also serves as the Assistant Ultrasound Director for the Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Targan earned her undergraduate degree in Health & Sustainability at the University of Michigan and her medical degree at Wayne State University. She completed residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado in Denver where she served as a Chief Resident. Dr. Targan completed advanced training in conducting point-of-care ultrasound and gynecologic procedures at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Her family has lived in and around Detroit for four generations. She is thrilled to return to her home state and serve her own community as a clinician educator on the cutting edge of Family Medicine education and primary care.
