I am a Pediatric Rheumatologist and physician scientist at the University of Michigan working to improve outcomes for children with rheumatic disease. I developed a multidisciplinary juvenile myositis clinic to expand access to state-of-the-art clinical care and better integrate research with clinical care. I started a juvenile myositis patient and family advisory council and work to integrate patient experience and engagement into clinic and research developments.

    Qualifications
    • Pediatric Rheumatology Fellow
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Pediatrics, 2017
    • Pediatric Resident
      Children's Hospital Colorado, Pediatrics, 2014
    Research Overview

My research focuses on improving clinical care for children with myositis and lupus. I study skin disease in pediatric myositis and lupus to identify novel disease mechanisms, biomarkers and treatment targets. I use translational, molecular and bioinformatic approaches to understand how we can develop precision medicine care for myositis and lupus patients. I currently lead two multicenter studies to understand the molecular and cellular basis of treatment response in juvenile myositis.
