Dr. Palardy is an advanced heart failure, mechanical support and heart transplant specialist who finds great professional satisfaction in making a difference in the lives of her patients through all phases of their treatment. The multidisciplinary nature of her work allows her to be deeply involved in the many aspects of patient care, and at the same time to contribute to medical education through research. Her main research interests are regarding timing and selection of patients for mechanical circulatory support devices, refining advanced heart failure population prognosis and characteristics, as well as understanding early changes in myocardial function/strain in patients at risk for cardiomyopathy such as neuromuscular disease.
Dr. Palardy completed her cardiology training at the University of Montreal in 2007 in her hometown (Montreal, QC), and her Advanced Heart Failure fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA) in 2008. She also pursued an additional year of training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital (2009) in echocardiography and advanced heart failure research. Following this, she served as the Advanced Heart Failure program director at CHUM Hospital at the University of Montreal and moved to University of Michigan in 2012 as an advanced heart failure cardiologist. She is also involved in the echocardiography lab.
