  • About

James R. Holmes is a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Michigan where he serves as Chief of the Foot and Ankle section. Prior to his current position, he spent 19 years in private practice and has been able to translate some those “lessons learned” to the academic environment. As an educator, his engagement has spanned the continuum from residency (Associate Program Director for 6 years) to fellowship (Chair of the AOFAS Fellowship Committee for 5 years) to postgraduate education (director of a large regional Foot & Ankle course for the last 20 years). Clinically, he continues to evaluate and treat a broad array foot ankle problems including complex trauma, adult reconstruction, and sports injuries.
