    Hannes Prescher, MD serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Section of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan.

    Dr. Prescher received his Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology and English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. He attended medical school at the University of Arizona and completed integrated plastic surgery training at the University of Chicago. During his training, he completed the American College of Surgeons-MacLean Center Surgical Ethics Fellowship at the University of Chicago. After completing plastic surgery training, he did an additional fellowship in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan.

    Research Overview

    Dr. Prescher’s research focus is on clinical outcomes in children born with craniofacial anomalies with a particular interest in distraction osteogenesis and orthognathic surgery. He is also interested in patient reported outcome measures in facial feminization surgery and surgical ethics.
