Available to mentor
I am initially from Cleveland, OH and have spent most of my life in Ohio before moving to Michigan. I studied Biological Sciences and Spanish at Vanderbilt University, spent one year as a research coordinator in Columbus, and attended medical school at The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine. I completed my pediatric residency at Nationwide Children's Hospital/OSU and my pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. I also completed a Masters of Medical Education through the University of Cincinnati.
I spent time during medical school participating in many Gold Humanism Honor Society events as well as endeavors such as writing poetry and learning to dance. I believe in holistic, personal care for my patients and I will be excited to get to know every child and their caregivers. I have broad interests in many types of pediatric GI processes, from reflux, constipation, and abdominal pain to more long term conditions such as celiac disease and IBD. Since I am also interested in medical education, you may meet a learner or trainee when you see come to see me, but you will always see me as well. Think of it as two doctors/brains for the price of one!
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, running, reading, and playing board games with my husband. We also love to cheer for our favorite sports teams. I am a big fan of the US Women's (and Men's) soccer teams, the Cleveland Guardians/Browns/Cavs, and of course, the Ohio State Buckeyes. But don't worry - even if you are a Michigan fan, we will get along just fine!
