Dr. Chan is a Canadian transplant after growing up in Toronto, Ontario. He completed his medical school and orthopaedic surgery residency at McMaster University while concurrently obtaining a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology.
He then completed dual fellowships in hand and upper extremity at Western University in London, Ontario, and at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Chan treats the full spectrum of hand and wrist problems. He also specializes in treating peripheral nerve injuries and using wrist arthroscopy to manage sports injuries. He is interested in studying how healthcare policies affect the treatment of hand and wrist patients.
In addition to being a frequent speaker and presenter, Dr. Chan has published numerous articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He is a journal reviewer for the Journal of Hand Surgery.
