Ann Arbor, Michigan — Michigan Medicine’s efforts to advance leading edge women’s health research will get a boost from actress and Daytime Emmy Award winning host of LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa.
Ripa will be the special guest at Michigan Medicine’s second annual Women’s Health Luncheon: Creating a Brighter Future Together. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 5, at the Franklin Hills Country Club, located at 31675 Inkster Road, Franklin, Michigan.
The Women’s Health Luncheon brings together physicians, researchers, donors, and supporters of diverse women’s health causes to identify challenges facing women, discuss strategies to overcome these barriers, and push for changes that can improve the lives of all women.
Ripa will deliver short remarks before sitting down for interview segments with members of Michigan Medicine’s leadership team, as well as with women whose health journeys have inspired them to support programs at Michigan Medicine to help other women.
As the mother of a University of Michigan student athlete, Ripa has shared her support for U-M across her social media and made several visits to Ann Arbor with her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos. Ripa and her family also have a history of supporting women’s health causes, founding The Ripa Center for Women's Health and Wellness at Cooper University Health Care in Voorhees, New Jersey. The Ripa Center was created by women, for women to offer comprehensive women's health services.
Emmy-nominated sports and news reporter Jamie Edmonds from WDIV Local 4 will serve as the emcee. For more details about the event, visit victors.us/womenslunch.
