    Research Overview

Dr. Viglianti’s research interest focuses on improving the care of vulnerable populations—either from physiologic derangements or social reasons. Her critical care work focuses on understanding the evolution of persistent critical illness and identifying evidenced based gaps in their care thereby changing their clinical trajectory to one of recovery. She is currently supported by an NHLBI K23 which focuses on improving risk stratification for patients who develop persistent critical illness.

Her social justice work has focused on sexual harassment with a specific focus on patient-perpetrated sexual harassment.
