Dr. Marr serves as the Medical Director of the Michigan St Joe Unit (MSJ) at St Joseph Mercy Hospital, a 26-bed combined Gen Med/Geriatrics unit that is an innovative collaboration between Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and specialists from IHA/THAA. Given her passion for patient safety and quality, she, alongside her geriatric and nursing partners, received the IHI Age Friendly designation for this unit. This unit is also touted for its high "discharge before noon" conversion rate as well as strong RN/Physician relationship. As this unit sunsets in anticipation of the new Pavillion, Dr. Marr will transition into Triage and Admitting Service Director for Hospital Medicine. This role aligns with her Length of Stay Committee work where she works closely with the Adult Emergency Services and Case management to improve patient access to inpatient acute medical care. Current projects include risk stratification of patients admitted for syncope, alcohol withdraw, chest pain, as well as diabetic foot infections, with the ultimate goal of streamlining access/receipt to care, decreasing inpatient admissions and decreasing inpatient length of stay,

As the former IMPOWER council Division of Hospital Medicine Co-chair and now member, Dr Marr works to advance DEI/wellbeing, a Wellness Advocate to the Michigan Medicine Office of wellbeing, as well as a Peer to Peer supporter for the COMPASS program run by the Office of Counseling and Workplace Resilience.

Outside work she enjoys being outdoors with her two daughters and husband, gardening, and exploring the National Parks.
