    Dr. Hunter received a B.A. in History at Davidson College in Davidson, NC. She then went on to Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC where she completed a combined MD/MA in Bioethics. Dr. Hunter completed her general surgery residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. While there she spent time at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya doing clinical research in burn injury and completed a ScM in Clinical and Translational Research at Brown University School of Public Health. Dr. Hunter completed a combined Burn/Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA before joining the faculty at Michigan Medicine.

    Research Overview

    Current research focuses on the unique population of geriatric burn patients and how to improve care for them through implementing specialize protocols and pathways. I am also interested in improving burn care networks through the use of telemedicine both in the United States and Globally.
