Catherine Dusing, PhD, earned her graduate degree in clinical psychology from Loyola University Chicago. As part of her training, she completed a predoctoral internship at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School/Dell Children’s Medical Center, which included specialized training in pediatric psychology and integrated models of care. Upon receiving her degree, Dr. Dusing completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Michigan Medicine, with a focus on pediatric cardiology psychology. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Dusing is an attending psychologist within the U-M Congenital Heart Center Psychosocial and Educational (M-COPE) Program, where she provides pediatric psychology services to support the neurodevelopment and mental/behavioral health of individuals with cardiac conditions from infancy through young adulthood.

Dr. Dusing's program of research is focused on evaluating the impact of stress and adversity on children's health and well-being, along with identifying factors that mitigate the negative impacts of stress/adversity. She is especially interested in the development and implementation of care practices that promote resilience for children and families in the context of significant stress.
